I gave you some Florida themed recipes, now it’s time for some good North Carolina inspired Thanksgiving dishes. We are less than a week away, so if you are looking for some inspiration to spice up your meal, here it is!
Cheerwine Cocktail
A North Carolina favorite, with a twist. Cheerwine has been a beloved soda for many years, made locally in North Carolina and enjoyed throughout the south. It just wouldn’t feel right not to include it in our North Carolina Thanksgiving! It’s simple, satisfying and easy to make. Here is what you’ll need:
Cheerwine
Ice
Whiskey
Armaretto
Cherries
Pomegranate Seeds
BBQ Turkey
We have to make sure we include some BBQ in this Thanksgiving Spread. Why not add those flavors to the already delicious main event- the turkey! Classic cuisine, home to the state of North Carolina, meets the traditional holiday bird we all know and love. Here is what you’re going to need, take notes!
Turkey
Celery
Lemon
Onion
Parsley
Ketchup
Honey
Crushed Red Pepper
Cider Vinegar Granulated Sugar
Salt and Pepper
Barley
Brown Sugar
Deviled Eggs
Deviled Eggs are a classic crowd pleaser and the perfect appetizer. They can be topped with a variety of ingredients, catering to the flavors you and your guests love. Add some bacon bits, pimento cheese or paprika to your eggs and let your guests graze as the rest of the food is prepared. Here is what you’ll need:
Eggs
Mayonnaise
Yellow Mustard
Salt
Pepper
Smoked Apple Cobbler
To top it all off, its only right to go pick some fresh apples- they are in season after all. The combination of the smokey flavor, the sugary goodness and the sweetness of the apples, this dessert will hit the spot after the big meal (and for a midnight snack!) This one shouldn’t be too hard:
Granny Smith and Gala Apples
Vanilla Extract
Granulated Sugar
Salt
Unsalted Butter
All-purpose flour
Buttermilk
All of these recipes make me hungry just reading them! The big day is coming up, so head to the grocery store, your local farmer’s market and the nearest apple orchard and make sure you have everything you need to cook a delicious North Carolina Thanksgiving.
