What is The Hamlet by Simple Life?

Simple Life creates and operates cottage home communities throughout the Southeastern US with private amenities for people who value living life over maintaining things. We provide lifestyle community amenities and a collection of 1 and 2-bedroom cottages for sale that can be customized to meet individual needs, and we maintain and operate our communities to the highest standards.

At The Hamlet, you own your home and avoid the cost and burden of land ownership with flexible lifestyle and homesite lease packages designed to give you the freedom to live more of life. Unlike restrictive land leases, we offer fully flexible land leases. Your lease ends when you sell your home – on your own terms.

Our Story

Our founders, The Resource Group, have been in land development and homebuilding for over 20 years. In 2015 they realized there was a significant gap in options for affordable, low maintenance homes for people wanting an amenity-rich community lifestyle. They went to work to conceptualize and develop a new kind of housing choice, partly fueled by the tiny home movement and demand for smaller, more efficient living without sacrificing home features and an active lifestyle. With these ingredients and inspiration, Simple Life was born.

Right-Sized Housing

We started by developing 2,500 square foot homesites for cottage homes of 399-500 square feet. We partnered with facility-focused home builders of high-quality homes with smaller footprints. Modern factory-built housing provided craftsman-quality construction and beautiful finishes, adhered to national building codes, and avoided costly weather delays, material waste, and contractor fees.

We designed and developed luxury shared community amenities including swimming pools, fitness centers and yoga studios, clubhouses, sports courts, dog parks, walking trails, green spaces, community gardens, and water features to create the perfect balance of private and shared space.

Simply put, today Simple Life uses lower impact, less costly development to build, own, operate and expand cottage communities and provide low maintenance amenity-rich living at a lower overall cost.
