Dear Friends of Simple Life,
We sincerely appreciate your support and concern. We would like to provide you with the latest updates regarding our communities in Western North Carolina.
Water Update
As of 10/3/2024, 10:00 AM – View the Water Status Map
This morning, Hendersonville Water & Sewer announced the lifting of the system pressure advisory for some customers, including most residents of Hendersonville. Notifications specific to each property have been sent to inform customers of their current status.
Please refer to the map at www.hvlnc.gov/wateralerts to check if your property still requires boiling water or if you have been removed from the advisory. Those still under the System Pressure Advisory should continue to boil water before consumption.
Internet & Phone Update
Currently, our Western NC communities are experiencing a lack of internet services. Phone service is inconsistent, varying by provider.
Community Infrastructure Update
We kindly ask all residents to avoid using the bridge in the Village that leads to the Meadows. This structure sustained damage from the storm, and we are awaiting an engineer’s assessment for repairs.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this time.

Dear Friends of Simple Life,
Simple Life extends heartfelt gratitude to all those who have reached out with concerns for our communities in Florida and North Carolina following the challenges posed by Hurricane Helene. We appreciate your support and wish to provide an update on the situation.
Lakeshore Community, Florida
We are pleased to report that Lakeshore experienced minimal damage from Hurricane Helene. Aside from some minor tree damage and landscaping debris, our central Florida community was largely spared from the turmoil faced by other areas. Thankfully, no residents or employees in Lakeshore were harmed during the storm, and our thoughts are with those in Florida who were less fortunate.
Western North Carolina Communities
Our Western North Carolina communities faced significant challenges due to a deluge of rain preceding the hurricane and the storm’s substantial impact. We are relieved to confirm that all residents and employees in Western NC are safe.
Current Situation in our Western NC Communities
Currently, our Western NC communities have power, but no internet service, with cell phone signals being sporadic. We do have access to city water and sewer services. All community roads are clear, our Clubhouse is operating on generator power, and water levels have returned to normal. Access to the Village, Hamlet, and Meadows is available via I26 and roads from Greenville, SC, and Charlotte, NC. Some flights are operating out of Asheville Regional Airport (ASH), with regular service at Greenville-Spartanburg Airport (GSP), which is a 40-minute drive away. Local hotels, including Fairfield Inn and Holiday Inn Express, are open and have regained power.
Our residents and employees in Western NC have shown remarkable resilience and neighborly support during this time. Despite challenges in finding food, water, and propane, the community has maintained a positive spirit, aided by the collective efforts of residents, employees, and local friends and family who have delivered essential supplies. Duke Power has returned power to the communities as of today.
Witnessing our residents come together during this challenging time has been truly heartwarming. With over 270 homeowners in Western North Carolina, Simple Life is committed to ensuring the well-being of all residents while we work diligently to restore normalcy.
Please note that there will be no sales tours in our Western NC communities until a review is conducted during the week of October 7th.
